Plumptre says she can’t wait to rejoin Super Falcons

Injured defender Ashleigh Plumptre has said she cannot wait to rejoin the Super Falcons in time for the Olympics in Paris after undergoing a successful surgery.

The injury forced her to pull out of the Olympics playoff double-header against South Africa.

Plumptre’s surgery was handled by orthopedic and sports medicine consultants Aspetar in Doha, Qatar, under supervision from Dr Pieter D’hooge.

Plumptre says she can’t wait to rejoin Super Falcons

After the successful surgery, Plumptre drummed up appreciation for her Super Falcons team mates and Nigerians for their continued support.

“To my @NGSuper_Falcons teammates and Nigerian fans…thank you for your patience and understanding when I’ve not been able to be with you,” she said.

“I can honestly say I have fought for as hard and as long as I can with this pain. I can’t wait to be back healthy with you all.”
