2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Super Eagles must win back lost 4 points demands Garba Lawal

The Super Eagles must win their next two 2026 World Cup qualifiers to recover the four points they lost when they were held to draws by Lesotho and Zimbabwe, according to ex-international Garba Lawal.

The Super Eagles host South Africa on June 7 in Uyo before they tackle Benin in Abidjan four days later.

“We lost four points after we drew with Lesotho and Zimbabwe last November and so we have to win our next two games to recover those points,” tasked former Super Eagles star Lawal.

“Both games against South Africa and Benin will not be easy, but they are winnable.

“Everything must therefore be done to get our World Cup qualifying campaign back on track.

“We cannot afford not to qualify for another World Cup.”

Nigeria are third in Group C with two points from as many matches.

Rwanda top the standings with four points, South Africa are second on three points, while Lesotho and Zimbabwe have two points same with the Super Eagles but have scored fewer goals.

Benin are bottom of the table on a point.

The overall group winners will qualify automatically for the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
