Will Amuneke agree to be Finidi No 2 man?

The ever-changing and intriguing search for a new Super Eagles coach could now take an entirely different direction with Finidi George finally getting the nod while Emmanuel Amuneke will be asked to assist him.

SCORENigeria has exclusively gathered that the NFF may now have settled for Enyimba coach Finidi to continue as the head of the national team after he acted in an interim capacity in last month’s friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

As first reported by SCORENigeria, Amuneke was not listed among the three coaches recommended to the NFF executive committee by the NFF technical committee.

Will Amuneke agree to be Finidi No 2 man?

However, top Government officials have now told the NFF leadership that they should consider accommodating Amuneke in the new backroom staff of the Super Eagles.

Close watchers have now asked the question whether Amuneke will agree to assist Finidi should the Enyimba coach be appointed.

Some have also warned that the mistake leading up to the 2022 World Cup playoff against Ghana should not be repeated when Amuneke was imposed on Augustine Eguavoen and the Super Eagles crashed out.
