Oshoala still a major doubt for Super Falcons showdown in South Africa
Record-winning CAF Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala could also sit out the Super Falcons Paris 2024 Olympics playoff return leg in South Africa, according to coach Randy Waldrum.
Oshoala did not see action in the first leg in Abuja after she only hit training camp from her USA base a day to the match.
Waldrum said Oshoala was not ready for the first game, which Nigeria shaded by the odd goal, and he could not guarantee her availability for the return match.
“I feel she was not prepared for the game and I am not sure of her for the return game,” he said.
Spain-based forward Monday Gift was a late sub in Abuja and the Falcons coach said she could play a bigger role on Tuesday in Pretoria when both teams clash again to determine who gets the ticket to the summer Olympics in France.
