NPFL ROUNDUP: Sporting Lagos dismantle Remo Stars as Shooting Stars also win big

Sporting Lagos trounced Remo Stars 4-1 today in a South West Derby with Shooting Stars also big winners over Akwa United.

Former Super Eagles striker Junior Lokosa scored from the penalty spot against his former club Remo Stars.

The flamboyant Lagos side have thus improved their mid-table position after flirting with relegation earlier in the campaign.

It was Remo Stars first South West Derby loss since 2019.

Shooting Stars were truly at home to thrash Akwa United 3-0.

Champions Enyimba controversially pipped visiting Doma United by the odd goal.

Play was held up for many minutes before Chijoke Mbaoma’s 88th minute effort was allowed by the referee after it was initially chalked off for offside.

The game was not restarted.

Both Abia Warriors and Rangers were held at home.

Abia warriors were pegged back 1-1 by Lobi Stars, while hosts Rangers played out a scoreless draw with Kwara United.
