NPFL ROUNDUP: Enugu Rangers, Enyimba climb to Top 3 after home wins

Enugu Rangers and Enyimba today moved into the Top 3 bracket on the NPFL table after important home wins in Week 26 matches.

Rangers beat league leaders Lobi Stars 2-1, while Enyimba were truly at home after they defeated Niger Tornadoes 3-1.

Both teams now have 45 points each after 26 rounds of matches with Rangers second in the standings, a point behind Lobi Stars.

Plateau United dropped to fourth position after they fell 2-1 at Katsina United.

In the early kick-off today, Abia Warriors were held to a scoreless draw by Sunshine Stars at home, while Rivers United pipped Heartland 1-0 courtesy of an Ukeme Williams strike

Heartland thus stay rooted at the bottom of the table on 23 points.

Doma United were completely dismantled by hosts Bendel Insurance 4-0 with Osaghe Jnr getting a brace.

Bayelsa United grabbed a late win over Kano Pillars, turning the tide against the Kano side after striker Mustapha Yuga gave them the lead in the 51st minute with goals from Emo James and Elvis Ori in the 79th and 90th minutes.

Kwara United are sucked into the relegation battle after they lost 2-0 at Sporting Lagos.

Aliu Salaudeen and Pascal Durugbor were the goal scorers for the Lagos club.

Kwara are 17th on the table with 29 points.
