Rangers coach Phillipe Clement has given reasons Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has now lost his place in the first team.
The coach said the emergence of young striker Hamza Igamane has been the major cause Dessers has found himself out of the starting XI.
“I spoke with Cyriel (Dessers) about why he’s playing less than before, and that’s because of the growth of Hamza (Igamane),” he explained.
“We will see what happens.
“Cyriel is working really hard. He’s a very good lad; he thinks collectively always.”
However, the coach claimed that Dessers has given full support to the youngster by helping him to improve his game
“He’s in support of Hamza; he gives him a lot of tips in the last couple of months in the training and during games,” he said.
“He showed that in the last game when he came in. You don’t see in him a player that’s disappointed that he’s not starting.”
Dessers, who has scored 35 times for Rangers, is now primed for a move back to Italy as he seeks more playing time
