West Brom caretaker manager Chris Brunt has said injury to Super Eagles striker Josh Maja has been a massive body blow to the team.
Maja, 26, has been in blistering form for the Championship side after already netting 12 times this season, showing incredible resilience considering he was also affected so much last season by injury.
Brunt claimed it’s not just about the goals for Maja, as his presence and overall play are also crucial to the side.
“It’s not just his goals, it’s his overall play too,” he told BBC Radio WIM.
“After missing last year with two bad ankle injuries, he’s been in great form for us this season.
“It’s been well documented that we haven’t scored enough goals this season anyway, and to be without him now is a massive blow.”
With the exact date for Maja’s return still unclear, Brunt’s West Brom side will now have to find a way to find the back of the net without their top scorer
