Sadiq Umar scores first La Liga goal in 2024

Sadiq Umar netted his first goal of the calendar year for Real Sociedad to win a hard-fought La Liga clash at Granada.

Sadiq Umar’s club won 3-2 on the road to deliver a great response following their exit from the UEFA Champions League at the hand of PSG.

Real Sociedad went behind in the 21st minute only for Sadiq to draw the game level after 33 minutes via a header.

It was his first goal since December 2023.

The Super Eagles have recalled the striker for friendlies against Ghana and Mali on the day he grabbed his third La Liga goal this season.

Real Sociedad now move up to sixth in their fight for European football next season.

They have 43 points from 28 matches.
