Premier League striker Elijah Adebayo reveals Super Eagles dream

Luton Town striker Elijah Adebayo has put himself forward to play for the Super Eagles despite the fierce competitions for places in attack.

Adebayo will be up against the likes of Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface and Terem Moffi for a spot in the Super Eagles frontline, but he will back himself to feature for the three-time African champions.

“I am proud to be Nigerian and I will love to play for Nigeria,” the tall Luton Town striker said in an interview

“My mum was born in Nigeria before she came here (England), I have been back to Nigeria when I was young and I am obviously looking to go back there again, my grandma lives in Nigeria.

“It will be a very proud day for my mum when I play for Nigeria as well.”

Adebayo, 26, has scored nine times in 23 appearances in his Premier League debut season.

Teammate and fellow Nigerian, Gabriel Osho, was called up for the first time by the Super Eagles for friendlies against Ghana and Mali this month, but has been forced to withdraw due to injury.

Luton Town are now a point away from the relegation point after Nottingham Forest were docked four points due to financial fair play infringements.
