Rohr: No best wishes to new Super Eagles coach

It will be a German War when new Super Eagles coach Bruno Labbadia comes face-to-face with fellow German Gernot Rohr in a 2025 AFCON qualifier next month.

Former Super Eagles Rohr will lead Benin in this clash in Uyo on September 7 and he said he will not be nice to his fellow countryman as he seeks another win over Nigeria.

“I wish him all the best, but not against us (Benin),” Rohr said of the new Super Eagles.

Rohr said Labbadia is a good coach and he hopes he settles down quickly in Nigeria.

“He’s a very good coach, I hope he’s well treated by the NFF and Nigerian fans,” he remarked.

“He has experience in the Bundeslia, I hope he quickly finds his way in Nigeria, which is a different environment.”

The Cheetahs of Benin will be in Nigeria buoyed by their first-ever victory over the Super Eagles in June in Abidjan.
