NPFL Player of the Week: Sunshine shooting star Sodiq Tunde

Recently signed striker Sodiq Tunde is the NPFL Player of the past week after he fired a brace for Sunshine Stars to beat visiting Plateau United 3-1.

The bulky striker has thus proved he can score goals in the top league after he netted nine goals in 17 appearances last season for Ekiti United in the NNL.

‘Obege’ registered an assist on his NPFL debut at home against Kwara United in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw.

This clearly showed that besides scoring goals, this power-striker can also play with the rest of the team to achieve results.

Added to this is his physical presence inside the goal area.

He signed a short-term deal last month that keeps him at Sunshine Stars till the end of the season.

He has so far made five appearances for Sunshine Stars, scoring two goals and providing an assist to help coach Kennedy Boboye’s team record 30 points after 24 matches.

Currently, the Akure team are placed 13th on the Nigeria Premier Football League table.
