Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye must count himself a very lucky man tonight when his Italian Serie A club Udinese scraped a 1-0 home win over promoted Como and he had to survive a stoppage time penalty against his club.
VAR showed an Udinese defender handled the ball inside his box and the referee promptly awarded a penalty against them and the shot stopper recorded a clean sheet.
Okoye was completely the wrong way, but the penalty also missed the target for Udinese to run away with all three points.
Last season, Okoye’s heroics ensured Udinese escaped relegation and he has since been rewarded with a new and improved contract.
