Golden Eaglets avoid hosts Ghana in U17 AFCON qualifiers

The fierce rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana will only be reignited in the knockout rounds of next month’s WAFU B U17 AFCON qualfiiers after the teams were drawn in separate first round groups.

The Black Starlets of Ghana head Group A along with Cote d’Ivoire and Benin, while defending champions Nigeria are in Group B pitched against Burkina Faso, Togo and Niger.

The top two teams will advance to the semifinals of the qualifying tournament with the finalists picking the tickets for the tournament proper.
