Super Eagles have shifted focus to crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin after friendlies in Morocco against Ghana and Mali.
Nigeria take on South Africa in Uyo and then confront Benin Republic away from home in the international window of 3-11 June, in Matchdays 3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
“June is only a few weeks away. We are focused on the matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic,” said Turkey-based defender Kenneth Omeruo.
“Many players in the group have not played at the World Cup before and they see this as the big opportunity to be there.
“We cannot afford to let ourselves and the nation down.”
Nigeria are third in their qualifying group with two points from as many rounds of matches.
Raphael Onyedika and Club Brugge were left disappointed not to reach the UEFA Europa Conference League Final after they were outscored by Fiorentina.
