Fisayo Dele-Bashiru did not make the final 23-man Super Eagles squad for must-win 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe and the Lazio coach has given an insight why this is so.
The Lazio midfielder was an used sub in his team’s last game against Udinese Monday night.
However, coach Marco Baroni said the player has yet to fully recover from an ankle he suffered in a Serie A game against Venezia late last month.
“Dele still has a bit of discomfort,” the Lazio coach explained.
“I need to talk to him because I want him to feel completely at ease before returning to the pitch. He still has some pain in the ankle.”
