What Rivers United need today to qualify for CAF Confederation Cup Q/Final

Rivers United will qualify for the quarterfinal of the CAF Confederation Cup today should they beat visiting Dreams FC of Ghana by at least 2-0.

In the reverse Group C tie in Ghana, Accra-based Dreams stopped the Nigerian representatives 2-1 in December in Ghana.

Going into this final group game, Rivers United are third in the standings with nine points and a +1 goals difference.

Dreams, who are owned by Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku, are top of the group with 12 points and a healthy +5 goals difference.

Tunisia’s Club Africain are second with nine points and a +5 goals difference.

They host whipping boys APC Lobito from Angola, who have failed to record a point after five rounds of matches.

A draw or a shock win by the Angolans in Tunis today could also get Rivers United across to the last-eight of the continental competition.
