Raphael Onyedika became the second Super Eagles star to be sent off this week in Europe after he saw a straight red in action for Belgian champions Club Brugge.
Onyedika went for an early shower in the 57th minute when he put up a double-footed tackle.
VAR confirmed the dismissal.
Club Brugge fought back to draw level 1-1 in stoppage time.
