NFF technical director Augustine Eguavoen will take charge of the Super Eagles for 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda next month and he could pick transfer-linked stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman as they are on a provisional squad.
The club future of both Osimhen and Ademola Lookman are unclear and that may well affect their selection for the games against Benin and Rwanda, officials said.
Osimhen did not feature in the 2016 World Cup qualifiers due to injury.
Eguavoen is back in the saddle for the Super Eagles due mainly to the indecision on the part of the NFF leadership, which promised a new foreign coach since June.
As it now stands, the appointment of a substantive coach for the national team will have to wait until after the matches in September.
