  • This initiative, supported by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, and UNICEF, aims to ensure that every child in Nigeria is registered at birth
  • It marks a major milestone in the country’s efforts to provide foundational identity to all children

  • How to register birth certificate online: https://birthreg-selfservice.nationalpopulation.gov.ng/
  • Got to and follow the simple procedure
  • Requirement for the birth certificate
  • Birth Registrations for children under the age of 5 years is free at every NPC registration center
  • You would be charged NGN2,000 only, for this service.
  • The self-service birth registration is only for children born in Nigeria and have a National Identification Number(NIN).
  • Either of the child’s parent must be Nigerian, and have a valid Birth Certificate.
  • Certificates can only be downloaded once after a successful application.
  • For a certificate reprint visit the NPC website to access this service.
  • Payments are non refundable.
