SCORENigeria Top 5: Tella dazzles and scores for unstoppable Bayer Levekusen

Bayer Leverkusen have continued their amazing winning run in the Bundesliga thanks in part to a goal and another tantalizing performance by Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella.

5.Henry Onyekuru

The Super Eagles winger is now one of the leading scorers of his modest Saudi Arabian club Al Feyah after he fired a brace to take his tally to nine goals in the current campaign following a vital 3-2 win at Al Shabab. His club are now ninth in the standings courtesy of this victory.

4.Chidera Ejuke

This is another Super Eagles winger who has continued to show class abroad after a rather subdued start to live in Belgium. He assisted the match winner for reigning champions Antwerp to win at KV Kortrijk and qualify for the championship playoffs with one round of matches to the end of the regular season. He will be crucial as Antwerp battle to keep their league crown.

3.Ibrahim Sunusi

The former CHAN Eagles star made a huge impact when he scored the winning goal for CF Montreal to go past Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami 3-2. It was his first goal of the season.

2.Sadiq Umar

The tall striker celebrated his recall to the Super Eagles by registering his first goal of 2024 in an important 3-2 win at Granada. He has now scored thrice in La Liga this season. His club Real Sociedad have immediately put away their elimination from the UEFA Champions League by PSG as they climbed into the UEFA Europa Conference League bracket. They are sixth in the standings with 43 points from 28 games.

1.Nathan Tella

The exciting winger grabbed his fifth goal for Bayer Leverkusen to record a 2-0 home win over Wolfsburg and remain 10 points clear at the top of the table with nine rounds of matches to the end of the season. It was a beauty of a headed goal to complete a great team play. Tella has now been handed another chance to fight for his place in the Super Eagles after he was overlooked for the recent AFCON. He made his Super Eagles debut in November and now he will be aiming to establish himself at international level.
