Promise David has said he is proud with his goal and performance in a UEFA Europa League playoff against Ajax.
The former Nigeria U23 star, who has applied to change his international allegiance to Canada, scored in the 28th minute from the penalty spot for Union St.Gilloise to beat Ajax 2-1, but crashed out of the competition 3-2 on aggregate.
“I was happy to score my first goal in Europe after I did not play in the group stage,” said Promise David.
“We’re sad with the result, but I am also proud with how far we came (in the competition). We hope in the future to do games like this.”
