Onome Ebi, Ordega stage shock Super Falcons comeback

Veteran stars Onome Ebi and Francisca Ordega have been included in the Super Falcons squad for Paris 2024 Olympics.

Both players have been listed among the four alternate players who could be drafted in the event of injury to any of the 18 players on the main squad.

Onome Ebi, 41, became the first African player to feature at six World Cups last year.

She also played at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, which incidentally was the last time the Nigeria women’s team featured in the competition.

The 30-year-old Ordega, on the other hand, plays for Russian club CSKA Moscow.

She was at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The Super Falcons final squad for the Olympics will be announced any time from now.

The Super Falcons will open training camp for the Paris Olympics on Thursday in Spain.

They will train in Spain for 10 days before they head out to France to continue their preparations.

They are drawn in a first round group with world champions Spain, Japan and Brazil.
