Official reveals how much Peseiro asked as salary to lead Super Eagles again

A top official has informed SCORENigeria that Jose Peseiro, who today announced his departure as coach of the Super Eagles, demanded a record monthly salary of $120,000 to continue on the job.

On his appointment as Super Eagles coach in May 2022, the Portuguese coach was on $70,000 every month.

However, when the Federal Government failed to honour a commitment to pay this salary, the NFF slashed it to $50,000 so that he could lead the country to the recent AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

“He asked for $120,000 a month salary, but the NFF offered to pay him his current salary of $50,000 instead,” an official informed SCORENigeria

“That was where negotiations broke down.”

Peseiro has since announced he will not continue on the Super Eagles post.

He said he received several offers after he led the Super Eagles to the final of the AFCON last month in Cote d’Ivoire.
