Onyedika opened scoring for Club Brugge against outgoing champions Antwerp on 44 minutes.
However, the Super Eagles midfielder then got his third booking in the Championship playoffs and as such will be banned for the epic clash against table toppers Union St.Gilloise next Sunday.
Club Brugge won 3-0 to now climb to third in the table with 33 points, two points behind front runners Union and Anderlecht.
Super Eagles stars Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke featured for Antwerp.
Antwerp have lost all three playoff matches now.
