The 2024/2025 NPFL season will kick off on August 31, according to the organisers of the competition.
The official X handle of the NPFL quoted chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye that the new season will begin on August 31.
The kick-off dates of the NPFL have often been changed over the years and it will therefore be a huge achievement if this date stood.
The format of the new season was not announced amid consideration that it may be an abridged league.
Enugu Rangers won the 2023/2024 season and along with runners-up Remo Stars will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League.
Enyimba, who finished third, will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Gombe United, Heartland, Doma United and Sporting Lagos have been relegated to the NNL, while Beyond Limits, Nasarawa United, El Kanemi Warriors and Ikorodu City have been promoted to the top league.
