Newly-appointed coach Manu Garba is in a hectic race to assemble a team to do Nigeria proud at the U17 AFCON sub-regional qualifiers next month in Ghana.
SCORENigeria first reported that Manu Garba was heavily favoured to take over the country’s U17s.
Manu’s appointment back to his former post was only made official today, just a month to the kick-off of the WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifying tournament, which will again be hosted by Ghana.
Two years ago, Nduka Ugbade led the team to top the qualifying tournament also staged in Ghana.
However, officials warned that scouting the best players eligible for this age bracket as well as the getting them through the dreaded MRI age-test could be a mountain too high to climb even for an experienced coach like Manu because of time constraints.
