Italian newspaper Il Mattino has predicted that Saudi Arabia is the most likely destination of Victor Osimhen after they reported that Chelsea have backed out of a deal for the striker and PSG are no longer forthcoming.
The newspaper said PSG have continued to play the hard negotiator and may return to the table in the final days of the transfer window for Osimhen.
PSG are the preferred destination for Osimhen, who has already agreed personal terms with the French club.
The French club will not pay the striker’s release clause of 130 Million Euros and will want to pay a much lower fee.
Il Mattino said PSG want to take advantage of the fact that Osimhen wants out, while Napoli do not want to continue to pay the high salary of over 10 Million Euros-a-year agreed in December 2023.
Saudi Arabia will therefore be the escape route for both Osimhen and Napoli.
The petro-dollars will resolve most of the issues that have dogged possible transfers to both PSG and Chelsea.
The only snag as it concerns this transfer to the oil-rich kingdom will be Osimhen himself, who has made it clear he wishes to play in Europe and the UEFA Champions League.
