Is Ahmed Musa in or out for Super Eagles?

Ahmed Musa’s inclusion in next month’s must-win 2026 World Cup qualifiers is hanging in the balance, SCORENigeria has learnt.

Coach Eric Chelle listed the Super Eagles captain on his provisional squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

However, pressure in now mounting for the coach to not name him on his final squad.

The coach had hoped to watch Ahmed Musa in NPFL action against Sunshine Stars in Ikenne the previous weekend, but the Pillars skipper did not make the matchday squad due to a knee injury he has been nursing.

He has not featured for Pillars in their last four league games, but he returned Sunday for the Kano State FA Cup final.

“The final decision on whether Ahmed Musa makes the final cut is down to the coach,” an official told SCORENigeria

“Yes there’s pressure for the player to be dropped and so it’s left to be seen whether he will be part of the final squad.”

The Super Eagles tackle Rwanda on March 21 in Kigali, before they host Zimbabwe in another World Cup qualifier four days later.
