I am best man to lead Golden Eaglets declares UK-based coach Akuneto

UK-based Nigerian coach Chuks Akuneto has declared he is eminently qualified to head the Nigeria U17s, the Golden Eaglets.

The highly-rated UEFA A-licenced coach, who has accumulated experience through coaching roles in India and England after making the transition into this sector following a playing career that spanned 15 years across five countries, is among those who applied to lead the Nigeria cadet team.

“Coaching Nigeria U17 is what I aspire for. I have a proven track record in player development, designing coaching programmes and my coaching methods has enable numerous players progress through the academy environment into professional club’s first team.

“I have experience in coaching education and development through FA affiliate tutor.” Akuneto said.The former FC Manchester manager has a UEFA B and UEFA A coaching certificates in 2008 and 2022 respectively.

He has handled FC Manchester, head coach of Stockport County FC U18 and U23 team, head coach Radcliffe Borough FC first team coach,

He managed Mogammedan Sporting club India reserve and youth teams.

Akuneto was the head of football academy at the Manchester College.and currently the manager of Oldham Athletic U19 team.

He was also involved in scouting and youth player development in Kenya in 2015 when he discover the national team captain Michael Olunga, Justin Omurwa and Amos Nondi among others
