Has controversy ended Golden Eaglets star winger’s U17 AFCON qualifying campaign?

One of the stars to watch for the Golden Eaglets at the U17 AFCON qualifying tournament in Ghana, Ibrahim Abdulganiyu, may have been axed from the team after controversy over his ownership surfaced on social media.

A certain club made various allegations against the exciting winger after they found out that it was another team officially credited to have sourced him.

The dribbling winger showed glimpses of what he is capable of in the Golden Eaglets opening Group B match even when he always had as many as three Burkina Faso defenders marking him.

However, he was not involved in the must-win game against Niger and on the match form the Golden Eaglets indicated he was injured even as there was no prior report to that effect.

It is now left to be seen whether the exciting Abdulganiyu will return for tomorrow’s crucial final group game against Togo.

Kick-off tomorrow is 5pm in Nigeria.
