Golden Eaglets weigh options for injured star defender

The Golden Eaglets have been forced to make changes in the heart of the defence in today’s final group game against Togo after star defender Boluwatife Ekishola is ruled out by injury.

His direct replacement in the win over Niger, Okorie Chibuike, is suspended after he was sent off on the hour of that game.

Rightback Sylvester Chika could now be drafted to partner Abdulwaris Yunus in central defence, while the other option would be to play defensive midfielder Destiny Samuel as a second centre-back.

Winger Ibrahim Abdulganiyu was listed as injured on the match form against Niger even though controversy over his ownership may be the main reason he has been frozen out.

Kick-off time is 5pm in Nigeria.
