SCORENigeria has exclusively gathered that the NFF are working on a friendly against Ghana in June that will prepare the Super Eagles for a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier in South Africa.
A friendly for the Super Eagles against Russia has already been confirmed for the June international break.
SCORENigeria has now learnt that the proposed friendly against the Black Stars will also be played in Europe, like the one against Russia.
The last Jollof Derby between perennial rivals Nigeria and Ghana was played in March 2024 in Morocco with the Super Eagles winning 2-1.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle had hoped to play against an African team like Zambia, who play a similar type of football like Bafana Bafana of South Africa, to prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifying showdown in South Africa in September.
Nigeria will be guests of South Africa on September 7 in continuation of the qualifying series for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
