Victor Osimhen will go on to break the Super Eagles all-time goals record that is held by Rashidi Yekini, according to former national team captain Mutiu Adepoju.
Yekini is the most prolific Nigeria international having scored 37 goals in 58 matches.
Last week, Osimhen matched the 23 goals scored by Segun ‘Mathematical’ Odegbami to emerged as joint second leading scorer in the all-time goals chart.
“Osimhen has all it takes to break Yekini’s record,” Adepoju said on Monday Night Football programme aired by SuperSport TV
Former African Footballer of the Year, Victor Ikpeba, also backed Osimhen to go on and be the highest scoring Super Eagles striker.
“He’s a very committed player, gives everything for the national team and so it’s very possible for him to break Yekini’s record,” he predicted.
