‘Chill guy’ Iwobi buzzing for Sunday showdown vs ex-club Arsenal

Alex Iwobi said he is “a chill guy” and the 3-1 win over Brighton Thursday night will boost Fulham self-belief going into Sunday’s London Derby against his former club Arsenal.

Iwobi posted a Man-of-the-match display to score twice for his fourth goal in five matches.

Fulham will be up against an Arsenal side, who are now third on the Premier League table and have won their last three matches.

“The result (vs Brighton) gives us the confidence. Hopefully, we get a result against Arsenal, not just me but there are few other players who used to play there, so we will see what we can do,” he said ahead of the visit of the London Gunners.

The Super Eagles forward has been on the form of his life and he attributed this to the support he has enjoyed.

“Just being mentally in a good place of my life, the support system I have outside of football from my family, my friends, and obviously the manager, my teammates, everyone gives me the confidence and just to go and express myself,” he explained.

“I have been mentally in the best place of my life.”
