Super Eagles captain William Ekong has said team spirit is high and the players will against Benin tomorrow put up a performance they will be proud of on their way to qualifying for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
“The mood in camp is very good, we’re excited about his game and we want to be in Morocco (for the AFCON),” Ekong said at today’s media briefing in Uyo.
“We will do that by winning games to qualify.
“The boys are in the right frame of mind and I have liked what I have seen in training.”
Caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen said his late appointment is a call to national duty and the target is the maximum three points at stake tomorrow.
“Expectations are high, we’re at home, we’re in good spirit and we want the three points,” he said.
“We will approach the game with all seriousness and we will do everything possible to win.
“It will be nothing but a win.”
