Belgian club say Flying Eagles striker Ahmed Abdullahi new Gift Orban

Belgian club Gent are already celebrating Flying Eagles striker Ahmed Abdullahi as their new Gift Orban after he emerged as top scorer with 18 goals for the second team.

In January, Gent sold Gift Orban to Ligue 1 club Lyon for about 13 Million Euros after a sensational run of goals.

They now believe they have in their own ranks a direct replacement for Gift Orban in Ahmed Abdullahi.

Last season, Ahmed rattled close to 30 goals for the Gent U18s and hence his promotion to the Jong Gent, who feature in the third-tier league in Belgium.

He made his first-team debut this season when he played the last 29 minutes of a league game against Sint-Truiden.

Coach of Jong Gent, Arnar Vidarsson said it is now up to the 19-year-old striker to take the next big step in his career.

“Now it is up to him to take that final step,” Vidarsson told Het Nieuwsblad .

“What do I expect from him? That he becomes even more consistent in defensive work. Top strikers also do not shy away from dirty work and that is another point of improvement for him, because for that you also have to be in top physical shape.

“He is super strong and very fast, but he can do even better in terms of endurance.”
