Bayer Leverkusen: Victor Boniface did not suffer major injury

A rather eventful few days continued for Victor Boniface after he was involved in a ghastly car crash in Germany Sunday morning.

It would be recalled that barely a week ago, Victor Boniface was among the Super Eagles players who were held hostage in Libya for over 20 hours, before they were eventually granted permission to fly back to Nigeria.

The Super Eagles striker put this ordeal behind him to even score the winning goal for his German club Bayer Leverkusen Saturday.

However, fresh accounts gathered by SCORENigeria revealed that at about past seven on Sunday morning, which was training-free, Boniface was on the A3 road between Bad Camberg and Idstein on his way to the airport in Frankfurt to pick up his friends when his Mercedes Benz car collided with an oncoming truck.

The Akure-born striker was not driving, but just a passenger.

His hand was bloodied as he stood at the accident scene in sweatpants.

Speaking to popular German news outlet Bild after the accident, his club Leverkusen informed:

“He is fine. Boniface only had two minor injuries to his hand.”
