Lobi Stars are bottom of the 20-team championship with 22 points from 24 matches.
The Makurdi outfit have failed to win in their last five matches.
Assistant coach and former captain Tar Akombo will lead the team for Wednesdayβs NPFL clash at second-placed Shooting Stars.
Amokachi reportedly first quit his position in December, but this was later dismissed by the club.
