Victor Osimhen has backed Victor Boniface to be crowned CAF African Player of the Year.
Osimhen listed himself, Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface as players in the Super Eagles capable of scooping Africa’s highest individual prize.
Victor Boniface was outstanding in his first Bundesliga season for Bayer Leverkusen to win the league and cup double last season in style.
However, he was not nominated for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year.
The striker also told the Obi One Podcast that Ademola Lookman deserved to be named Africa’s best player last year.
“Like two months before the award, I told him that he deserve it, CAF did an amazing job (to give him the award),” he remarked.
“He didn’t take my crown, it was just my time and it was a big achievement for the country to win the award back-to-back.”
Osimhen maintained he believes he can do much more in the game.
“I still have a lot more,” he said.
“I’m my own critic, I can give more, even when I scored two goals against Tottenham (Europa League), I could have got five goals, but only got two.”
