Red-hot Union St.Gilloise striker Promise David has given reason why he has changed his international allegiance from Nigeria to Canada.
The striker has featured for Nigeria at U23 level even though he was born to Nigerian parents in Canada.
As first reported by SCORENigeria, he has now applied to play for Canada at full international level.
He said this is so because Canadian football developed him.
“Canadian football raised me. So I feel like I owe it back to Canada to perform for them,” David told The Athletic
The 23-year-old striker has thus far fired 13 goals in all competitions for his Brussels club Union in his first season in Belgium.
