Ademola Lookman came off the bench tonight to score, but it was not enough as Alatanta crashed out of the UEFA Champions League for Raphael Onyedika’s Club Brugge to go through to the Round of 16.
Fit-again Lookman made an instant impact when he scored in the 46th minute, within a minute of coming on in the second half.
It was his fifth goal in the competition.
Atalanta then got a penalty soon after, but the Super Eagles forward’s effort from the 12 yards out was saved by the goalkeeper.
Atalanta thus crashed out of the Champions League 5-2 on aggregate having also won the first leg in Belgium 2-1.
