Nigeria U23 striker David Promise has said he hopes to win the Belgian Cup after he scored twice for Union St.Gilloise to reach the quarterfinal of the cup competition at the expense of Gent.
Union beat Gent 3-2 Monday night with David Promise grabbing a brace.
The striker opened scoring in the 12th minute, before he completed his double on the hour to make it 3-1.
He has now fired eight goals in all competitions this season.
“The Croky Cup (Belgian Cup), ‘guys’,” David Promise declared after the cup victory by the reigning cup holders.
“The board talked to me a lot about it. And I’ve seen the images of the cup final last year at least a thousand times.
“We’re going to fight to be there again this year. (Laughs) I want a medal too.”
