Peter Olayinka: I wish to say goodbye to Slavia Praha with league and Cup double

Peter Olayinka scored twice at the weekend and has said he hopes to win the Czech league and Cup double again this season as a parting gift for Slavia Praha.

The full interview:

After a two-goal performance against FC Slovácko (2:0), Peter Olayinka spoke about his goals, chemistry with Christos Zafeiris and the great motivation that drives him to the last months of his time in Slavia.

Are you happy with the result and your personal performance?

Yes, I am very happy with the performance of the entire team. It shows how much we wanted this win. It’s very important to us.

A 2-0 win over the fourth-placed team in the table is a great answer to rivals after the draw in Teplice, don’t you agree?

In the last game we drew in Teplice, but as a team we responded well to that. We won, you could see how everyone gave everything. I’m happy that we won, but now we have to focus on the next game.

Through your goals, did you appreciate the assists from Christos Zafeiris and Tomáš Holeš?

Holi has not played for a long time, I am very happy that he is back in the team. You could see the passion he played with. I am also grateful for Christos. It’s important for them to be confident, to take confidence from the team, which was seen in the match.

Did you notice that people were standing up for you when you were replaced?

It was amazing from them. They support the team perfectly every time. I am very happy, we are glad that they are behind us.

You have the last few months left with Slavia Praha. How motivated are you?

Our target is to win the double. That is the reward we look up to. It is very important to us. I want to get these two trophies before I leave the club. I would be very happy indeed.
