ZRA APPOINTS MINERAL ROYALTY AGENTS

Zambia Revenue Authority- ZRA -has started identifying and appointing withholding mineral royalty agents.

ZRA Acting Corporate Communications Manager, OLIVER NZALA says this is in an effort to increase tax compliance and revenue collection.

Mr. NZALA told ZNBC News that three collection agents have so far been appointed as at September 13, 2022.

And Mr. NZALA said the Authority has noted that a good number of Small-Scale Miners and Traders in Minerals are finding it hard to understand the complex methods involved in computing Mineral Royalty and filing returns.

He said by appointing agents, ZRA is easing the burden of small-scale miners and traders by streamlining the collection of this tax through the agents.
