It can be revealed that Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur made a last-ditch effort to sign Ademola Lookman before the transfer window shut.
They were confident of signing the Atalanta star forward for £43 million.
However, they struggled to get Atalanta to agree to their preferred formula of a loan with an option to buy.
