Enyimba hope the arrival of former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye will help solve their goal-scoring problems as well as the lift their young players, according to sports director Ifeanyi Ekwueme.
Ideye, 36, has signed a short-term contract as a free agent with Enyimba after he was previously linked with NPFL rivals Rivers United.
A 2013 AFCON champion, Ideye has played in the Premier League, Ligue 1 among several other top leagues across Europe.
“We are delighted to get Ideye because he will help solve our problem of scoring goals,” said sports director Ekwueme.
“His experience and exposure will also motivate our young strike force to do more.
“He will be a massive inspiration as our young players will look up to him and also up their game.”
Ideye will resume training with Enyimba next week.
Enyimba are eighth in the NPFL standings with 21 points from 13 matches.
They are also in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
