Several reasons have been advanced to why top Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal are moving mountains in their bid to sign Victor Osimhen.
Besides his goals and his profile, the Riyadh club believe Osimhen will be a worthy replacement for the Brazilian star Neymar, who departed for Santos in January.
Osimhen will therefore be their marque signing.
They also wish to compete favourably at the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off later this month in the United States of America.
This past season, they again narrowly missed out on the Saudi league championship after finishing as runners-up.
They have won the league 19 times, but the last time they did so was in the 2023/2024 season.
They are therefore ready to sell former Fulham striker Alekxandar Mitrovic to free up space for the Super Eagles striker.
They have since submitted an official bid to Napoli for the player that comes close to his release clause of 75 Million Euros, while offering to triple his already huge salary of 12 Million Euros net annually.
They also want to give him a three-year deal.
New Al Hilal coach Simone Inzaghi has already given his full blessings for the arrival of the Nigerian star and has even spoken to the player on the new project at the Saudi side.
