UEFA Champions League: Dessers out, Ogbu, Olatunji in

Cyriel Dessers and Rangers crashed out of the UEFA Champions Leagues, while Igho Ogbu and Victor Olatunji have advanced to the playoffs of the competition.

Ten-man Rangers fell 2-0 at home after they held Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine 1-1 last week with Dessers snatching a stoppage time equaliser.

They will thus drop to the UEFA Europa League.

Ogbu and Slavia Praha progress to the playoffs courtesy of a 1-0 win over Union St.Gilloise in Belgium tonight to go through 4-1 on aggregate.

The former Flying Eagles central defender played the entire game in Brussels tonight.

Slavia Praha city rivals Sparta also advanced in the competition after they eliminated FCSB from Romania 4-3 on aggregate.

They won tonight at FCSB 3-2 after both teams played out a 1-1 draw in Czech Republic last week.

The Czech champions raced into a 3-0 lead by halftime tonight only for the home team to fight back with two goals after the break.
