Tella opens 2025 for champions Bayer Leverkusen in super quick style

Nathan Tella tonight scored the first goal for Bayer Leverkusen in 2025 to set them on the road to a 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund.

The Super Eagles winger got his team going as early as the 24th second, when he fired home from the edge of the box.

It was his first Bundesliga goal of the season and his team’s ninth straight win.

Compatriot Victor Boniface was not listed on the matchday squad by Leverkusen even though he has recovered from injury while on international duty in November.

The away win means the defending Bundesliga champions are now just a point behind leaders Bayern Munich, who have a game in hand.
